Scary Story

Evil             Haunted
Candy        Scream
Blood         Cemetary
Ghost         Monster
Boo            Pumpkins
Clock         Terrifying

My friends and I decided to go to a haunted house Saturday. As I pull up to a cementary, we all wonder were the haunted house could be. We look around and can only see tomb stones and smashed pumpkins.  The fog is heavy and we can't see further than were the headlights are pointing. I park the and turn off the lights. The graveyard is light by the full moon.  We step out and start walking through the cemetary. The leaves break underneath us.  As i walk through i see the stain of blood across tombstones.  i become very terrified and want to go home.  no one listens so we continue on.  i can smell an unusual odor.  we get closer to the end of the cemetary and see a forrest back.  we get to the end of the cemetary and a horrific zombie pops out and screams, "BOO!" we all run for our lives but unfourtanetly i was the only to make it back to the car.  i wait a few seconds to see if there are just behind but nobody comes... i start the car and never go back to that haunted house.

They Say, I Say

1. My friends, I must say that we have not made a single gain in civil rights withoout determined legal and nonviolent pressure.

2.You speak of out activity in Birmingham as extreme.

3. In your statement you assert that our actions, even though peaceful, must be condemned because they precipitate violence.

4.I have tried to stand between these two forces, saying that we need to emulate the "do nothingism" of the complacent nor the hatred and despair of the black nationalist.

5. Rather, i have tried to say that this normal and healthy discontent can be channeled into the creative outlet of nonviolent direct action.

6. But despite these notable exceptions, i must reiterate that I have been disappointed with the church.

Introduction Exercise 2

In the introduction to "They Say/ I Say": The Moves That Matter in Academic Writing, Gerald Graff and Cathy Birkenstein provide templates designed to enhance the your writing skills.  Specifically, Graff and Birkenstein argue that the types of writing templates they offerhrlp the purpose of your essay.  As the authors themselves put it, "They Say, I Say." Although some people believe not using that, Graff and Birkenstein inist that you follow the suggestions. In sum, then, their vies is that their paper is not as adequet. i agree.  in my views, the types  of templates that the authors recomend are very helpful.

Inroduction Exercises 1

When softball players come to mind people automatically assume their lesbian, wether they are joking or serious, that is the first thing that comes to someones head. They see softball as the sport that attracts all the lesbian girls or turns them into one. However, there are lesbians on teams but they were not influenced through softball. For the truth is that even lesbians are some of the best softball players. In this essay, you will see that there are few or no lesbians on a team and many women will not change their preference on who their attracted to.
